David Pierson has been involved in hospitality and tourism related businesses since 1979.  He has been employed in a wide variety of hospitality industry related positions including Manager of a tourist attraction, Vice President of a national hotel chain and Corporate Manager for Marketing and Property Development for a hotel ownership and management company.  His varied industry experience allows him a strong insight into the operational and financial aspects of the hospitality industry.

Dave attended the University of Kansas School of Journalism, where he majored in the Advertising sequence.  In addition to general real estate course instruction, Pierson has completed the Certification in Real Estate, Development, and Hotel Investment Program of The School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University (Ithaca, NY), including specialized courses in Hotel Planning and Design, Computerized Hotel Market Studies and Valuations, Property Asset Management, and Advanced Hotel Investments. He has also completed additional specialized courses, including Hotel/Motel Valuation (The Appraisal Institute, Stephen Rushmore, Instructor), Financial Analysis for Commercial Real Estate (Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute), as well as courses in Alternative Financing, Starker (IRC 1031) Exchanges, Buyer Agency representation, Property Analysis and Corrective Action Analysis. He is dedicated to continuing his professional education to best serve the needs of his Clients.

Dave has been active in his community and industry in a variety of leadership positions, including serving as President of the Kansas Hotel Association, Board Secretary of the Kansas Lodging Association, President of the Hays Area Jaycees, which honored him with a Jaycee of the Year award, Board Member for the Rosedale Area Development Association, President of a Chain Regional Marketing Cooperative, and as a Member of the Transportation Committee of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Pierson also previously served as an Allied Board Member for the Missouri Hotel/Lodging Association.

Dave has been affiliated with Varnum/Armstrong/Deeter since 1995 and holds both Kansas and Missouri Real Estate Licenses.  Dave is also a member of the Realtors Commercial Alliance of the National Association of Realtors, The Kansas Realtors Association, The Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors, as well as active in several community organizations.
