Harpool has been active in the commercial real estate &
investment market in the KC Metro area since 1997,
representing both buyers and sellers of owner/user
and/or investment properties in the Midwest and is one
of the listing agents for Lionsgate Marketplace,
Overland Park, KS and Monticello Village, Shawnee, KS.
Some of Her Clients: Dillon’s (wholly owned subsidiary of Kroger), St. Luke's
Hospital, Harley-Davidson, Taco Bell, Goodyear
Corporate, Family Dollar Corporate plus finding
several Phillips Petroleum Corporate locations until
their merger, as well as helping Midwest corporations or
local businesses expand or sell their properties.
Former Experience: Harpool was the founder of the N.H. Traffic Institute
(NHTSI) and ran it for many years before being invited
to KC by a Midwest Development Company. Before leaving,
Harpool appointed a board of directors to run the
company after changing the NHTSI to a non-profit
corporation which continues today, providing service
statewide for the state of NH & its citizens.Before that, Harpool was the Public Relations
Director and Legislative Liaison for the New Hampshire
Technical Institute. In that position she was appointed
to serve with others on a special Committee appointed by
the Governor to decide how NH was going to honor its
teacher, Christa McAuliffe, who was killed aboard the
Challenger Space Shuttle.Harpool coordinated all PR activities through and
including the groundbreaking ceremony for the Christa
McAuliffe Planetarium project which opened a year later
and continues to bring thousands of students and other
visitors to explore space in her memory.Before that Harpool served as a writer for the
Governor’s office.
Professional Service: Shirley Harpool is
currently President of the KC CCIM (Certified Commercial
Investment Member) Chapter.The KC CCIM Chapter has an average membership of
250 commercial real estate practitioners.The chapter is a chartered member of the CCIM
Institute – founded in 1954 and is a
global leader in commercial and investment real estate
education and services. The coveted CCIM designation is
recognized as a hallmark of professional competency and
affords members an undisputed competitive advantage.Harpool’s interest and
service as a CCIM spans almost a decade
of active involvement in the CCIM Institute and the KC
CCIM Chapter.
CCIM Leadership: In October 2008 Harpool
was selected to attend the CCIM Jay W. Levine Leadership
Academy & graduated in 2009 with 11 other CCIM
commercial real estate practitioners located throughout
the U.S.
Harpool is 2011 Vice Chair of the CCIM Legislative
Sub-Committee and serves on the CCIM Professional
Standards Committee.
Interests: Harpool enjoys skiing,
backpacking, mountain climbing, flying and donating her
time locally at Southwoods Christian Church as well as
other various local and international missions located
in third world countries to help meet the needs of
orphans, the sick and the homeless. Her husband, David
Harpool, is a consultant for the U.S. State Department
as well as a retired NH Police, Standards and Training
Captain.
They enjoy scuba diving and seeing the world together
with family and friends.
